Hi, this blog post is a week late. I was contemplating exactly what I wanted to write about on the first product information post. I think the best place to start is to share with you why I created Exquisitely Yours, opened an online store and how the blog evolved.
During the entire year of 2022, I had been trying to find an avenue to build an income that would one day, either supplement my retirement income or replace my current income. My desire is to live a healthier lifestyle, a lifestyle of service and one that I’d be able to work from wherever I wanted. I thought about writing as a copywriter, doing proofreading and possibly copy editing. Then, I ran across an opportunity to learn how to open an online store and thought that that would give me a chance of building a sustainable income. Thus, Exquisitely Yours was born. I wanted the name to depict my dedication to those I would encounter.
Little did I realize that to be successful with an online store, the advertising budget word be so significant. I opened my online store January of 2023 officially and by the end of February I had grossed over $5000 in sales. I felt that this was a good start and I believed, at the time, that the business would grow. After Valentine's Day something changed and my sales dried up. March, I made a few $100 and then nothing. By this point, I've realized that I could not sustain continuing to purchase ads. I turned to other ways to get exposure on social media.
My social media presence also began in January 2023 and now I wanted to see if posting and having a social media presence could translate to sales. The Facebook and Instagram presence for Exquisitely Yours has been a wonderful experience, though it has not yet translated to sales. I've met some wonderful entrepreneurs and we all seem to have the same goal. The desire to write is still very much tugging at me. The blog is a natural extension of that desire to write. I blogged years ago and believe that through my writing there is purpose. There’s so much more to learn about monetizing the website and blog.
I hope to highlight not only products that I have in my blog post, but products and services of those that I've met on this journey. Here, I’d like to highlight the great talent I have encountered and as my blog grows, give exposure to what we have to offer. I strongly believe we are better together. Stay tuned…
